Baltic Wood, a wooden flooring manufacturer, has announced its plans of development in 2018. The strategy provides for consolidating the company’s position in Poland, increasing sales in Europe and new markets, as well as further investments. The company has notched up a steady sales growth of 60% over the last five years, and the high quality of its products has come to be corroborated by prestigious awards and distinctions.
The latest data by the Polish Central Statistical Office show a distinct upswing in the Polish market of residential construction. In 2017 the number of construction permits and construction plan submissions went up by almost 35% YOY. This state of affairs favourably affects the increase in the demand for finishing materials, including wooden flooring. Baltic Wood’s new strategy comes as a response to the changing needs of end users in Poland and international markets. Over the last five years the company, which manufactures flooring exclusively from natural wood, has witnessed a sales growth of upwards of 60%. In 2018 Baltic Wood announces its initiative to boost revenue and consolidate the sales dynamics, as well as consistently extend its product range and make further investments.
Quality at a premium
Last year end users’ greatest interest was aroused by Baltic Wood oak floors characterised by high durability that ensures many years of service. Their share in the company’s total sales amounts to 85%. The popularity of the segment of ash flooring has been rising, ranking second with a share of 11%. The interest in the floorboards of the single-row pattern has remained steady. Customers appreciate their vast arrangement possibilities, and thus it has continued to be a top-ranking pattern compared with all the other patterns on offer. – The company’s economic performance proves that wooden flooring is enjoying rising popularity. More and more often, designers and users choose natural products rather than alternative solutions. This results from improved affluence and Polish investors’ increasing awareness of design, high quality and durability of natural products, as well as their health impact and comfort of use – says Rafał Zawierucha, President of Board of Directors at Baltic Wood S.A.
Trends and innovations in 2018
Trying to accommodate investors’ expectations in 2018, Baltic Wood announces an extension of the product portfolio with further innovations. One of them is a unique line of ash floors called JAZZY Collection, dedicated to interiors decorated in both a traditional and modern style, and featuring the most fashionable colour schemes ranging from dark walnut, to caramel, to anthracite and pearl oil. The spring will witness the debut of new patterns and shades of the classic line of three-layered, hand-distressed oak floors of the TIMELESS Collection, which comprises floors awarded the INNOVATION 2017 title during the Domotex Fair in Hanover last year. This year the company is also planning to extend the designer line of JEANS Collection, which has gone down so well with end users and has been granted the main award in the competition recommending the best finishing and interior decoration products – INSPIRATIONS 2017. The launch of Baltic Wood outdoor products is going to be an innovation on offer. The company is planning to market terrace floorboards by the brand name of KINGDOM Collection.
Bringing Polish floors into global markets
Baltic Wood, whose headquarters and production plant are located in the Subcarpathian town of Jasło, also announces further action geared towards consolidating its position in the international market.
– In 2018 we’re focusing our activity on further development of sales in the Far East, where we, as one of few Polish companies, offer premium products to an ever-growing group of users. We carry on building a positive image of the Polish brand and advancing the manufacturing technology – says Magdalena Marek, a member of the Board of Directors and Chief Commercial Officer at Baltic Wood S.A. Currently, export accounts for about 90% of the company’s manufacturing capacity, and the sales network, which comprises more than 350 professional partners, operates in 52 countries. In 2017 the biggest rise in the sale of Baltic Wood wooden floors took place in Germany, Belgium, Italy and Estonia.
– One of the key elements in our strategy for 2018 and the following years will be further investment in technology and company development, and so we have decided to issue shares in a public offering and to float shares in the alternative trading system of NewConnect run by the Warsaw Stock Exchange – adds Rafał Zawierucha. The extra funds to the amount of about PLN10m thus obtained will allow us to retain its high-ranking position in the lead alongside other manufacturers of supreme quality natural wood flooring in the international market, as well as to expand into new markets and further develop the company.
