General requirements

Baltic engineered three-layer hardwood floor must be installed last after all other interior work has been done. The windows, central heating, wiring and painting must be finished. The room must be dry and the ventilation system functional.

The interior doors must be installed after the floor has been laid (unless the door installation instructions say otherwise).

Before being installed, the three-layer floor must be stored horizontally,
in a dry place and on an even surface. Do not store the floor boards vertically, propp them on edge or up against other objects.

48 hours before installation, Baltic Wood three-layer hardwood floor should be stored in unbroken factory wrapping (shrink-wrapped) in room temperature and preferably in the room where it’s going to be installed. The temperature before and during the installation should be at least
64.4°F.

The final outcome in the installation will be dependent on the quality of the substrate. Each base on which Baltic Wood engineered three-layer floor is to be laid should meet the following conditions:

The base should be:

  • clean
  • uniform (no cracks)
  • even
  • dry
  • it should have in-laid elastic thermo-acoustic insulation against both vertical and horizontal building elements
  • it should be characterised by the following resistance parameters:

    - tearing strength - minimum 1,5 MPa
    - compression strength 25-30MPa
    - shearing strength 3,5 MPa
