Grades specification

Each floor is available in specific grades which bring out its unique character and enhance natural features of wood such as knots, grain patterns, heartwood and sapwood.

Some of the wood species on our offer are available in a number of grades which makes it easy to choose the right flooring to match the interior style.

Sapwood and heartwoodHeartwood is the innermost part of a tree, usually much darker. It does not serve any physiological functions nor does it conduct water.

Sapwood is the living wood tissue of a brighter hue encircling the heartwood. It is highly moist for it conducts water, mineral salts and growth substances from the roots up to the crown. It is also a place where reserve substances are stored up. These are drawn upon in the rest periods.
